Terms of Business

By purchasing from BleakHounds Design, whether it is by using my "Shop" or by receiving an invoice from me counts as acceptance of my "Terms of Business" and "Care Advice".  These may change from time to time without notice.  It is your right as a consumer to discontinue use of this website if you are not happy with my "Terms of Business".

 

Strictly Payment with Order

 

I endeavour to dispatch your order paid by PayPal, Cash or Postal Order as promptly as possible.  Uncrossed postal orders are treated as cash.  Crossed postal orders are treated the same as cheques and are required to clear before your order is processed and dispatched.  If there are going to be excessive delays I will contact you and let you know.  If orders are paid for by cheque these will be required to clear before your order is processed and dispatched.  Cheques should be made payable to J Gunn.  I am unable to accept cheques made payable to any other name.  CHEQUES ARE NOT ACCEPTED FOR EXCHANGES!

 

Overseas Customers

 

I only accept orders from overseas customers on the understanding that they are paid for via PayPal.  Any returns or exchanges are acceptable for up to four weeks from dispatch date.  Should you wish to return/exchange an item you are responsible for the cost of return postage to me and also for the replacement item to be sent to you.  Please contact me in the first instance.

 

Returns and Exchanges including Bespoke, Custom and Made to Order

 

In most circumstance you may return any "Ready Made" product as long as these are FREE FROM HAIRS AND IN A STATE FIT FOR RESALE, without affecting your statutory rights. I must be contacted within seven days of receiving your order that you would like to return your item and the customer will have seven days from this time to return the item to me.  Exclusions will be collars were there will be a £5 restocking fee per collar as only the fittings are re-useable.  Postage is NOT refundable unless in the unlikely event  the product is returned as a manufacturer's fault.  Return postage is your responsibility and there will be a charge levied to send your exchanged item to you.  This can be paid by cash or uncrossed postal order.  Bespoke, Custom and Made to Order items are sold on a strictly no returns basis as detailed below.  Please contact in the first instance to request your return.  When returning your items, please include the following written instructions with your returned item:

 

enclose payment for the exchange, which will comprise of P&P and any extra costs for exchanging to a higher valued item

the total cost of payment for the exchange is payable by cash or uncrossed postal order.  Cheques are not accepted for the small amounts which will be involved

Even if you have contacted me by phone or email please still follow the above procedure and please make sure that you OBTAIN PROOF OF POSTING FROM THE POST OFFICE WHICH IS FREE OF CHARGE AND PROTECTS YOU TO THE VALUE OF £20 FOR LOSS OF AN ITEM OR DAMAGE.  Please ensure that the postage method you choose for returning an item insures you for the value of your order.  The Post Office should be able to advise you of this.

BleakHounds Design accepts no responsibility for items returned to us which are lost or damaged in the post.

 

Bespoke, Made to Order and Custom Items

 

Many of my items are made to your own fabric choices and size and as a consequence, made to order.  Often with the fabric being specifically purchased for your order as I can only hold so much stock.  You will notice from your invoice that these items are sold on a strictly no returns basis.  That in paying the invoice you are aknowledging acceptance of the "Terms of Business" and "Care Advice".  A photo on my website does not mean it is ready made.  These are photos of previous customer orders and are there to show you possibilities you could have.  If you are not happy with the "Terms of Business" as stated, please do not order.  These items are not sold on a try before you buy basis.  From time to time I may be in a position to accept a return.  This decision will be at the sole discretion of BleakHounds Design and it will incur a nominal restocking charge of £6 per item for PJ's and £9 per item on coats.  If you are not happy with this, please do not purchase bespoke, made to order and custom made items!

 

Faulty Items

 

Genuine faulty items are few and far between.  The following procedure will apply:

 

Make contact with me in the seven days after the day of the item(s) receipt.  Any genuine faults will have become apparent by then.  After this date I am unable to accept returns of any nature.  These must be received by me within seven days of this contact.  I recommend that you obtain Proof of Posting.  I accept no responsibility for items that do not arrive back with me.

 

No responsibility will be accepted by BleakHounds Design, at this stage, until the item is returned to me and examined.  It is possible to tell by looking at an item whether it was faulty or not.

 

If an item is deemed a genuine manufacturers fault, the item will be repaired or replaced as I deem necessary at my cost.  Cost will be cost of repair, postage to return the item and the cost of you returning the item(s) to me.  This is limited to Royal Mail 2nd Class Post. I will not compensate any extra for items sent by Recorded Delivery, Special Delivery or Courier.

 

Should the damage not be deemed a fault but wear and tear or damage caused by the user in any way whatsoever, you will be informed of the cost of repairing or replacing this.  An invoice will be raised as per your decision.

 

Should you decide not to repair or replace an invoice will be sent to cover postage charges to return the item to you.  Item(s) will not be returned by BleakHounds Design until this invoice has been paid.

 

I WILL NOT REFUND OR REPLACE ANY ITEM DEEMED FAULTY THAT I HAVE NOT SEEN NOR WILL I ACCEPT PHOTOGRAPHIC EVIDENCE.

 

Dispatch/Delivery of your Order

 

Your order will be dispatched promptly. If there are going to be any delays you will be notified at the time of order. I always obtain Proof of Posting for all orders that I dispatch.

 

Whilst I control the dispatch timescale I do not control how long it takes for your order to arrive with you.  I do offer a variety of postal options, please enquire if you need something in a specific timescale.  Orders over the value of £50 must be sent by Royal Mail Special Delivery or Parcel Force.

 

When paying by PayPal, I will dispatch to the address forwarded to me by PayPal at the time of your payment.  It is important that this address is accurate and current.  BleakHounds Design does not accept any responsibility for orders going astray as a result of incorrect addresses.  Equally, orders returned to me as a result of an incorrect address being provided will incur a charge to repost the item to you.  Please take the time to check addresses on PayPal to ensure that the address is accurate and where you would like your order to be delivered.  An incorrect address could prove to be costly.

 

Purchasing from Third Parties

 

Should you purchase an item containing a BleakHounds Design label from anybody other than BleakHounds Design I do not accept any responsibility in any respect whatsoever.  Your contract of purchase lies with the  person/business that you purchased the item from.  It is recommended that you do not purchase in this manner and that should you wish to purchase one of my products that you do so from me directly.

 

Items Lost or Damaged in the Post

 

Whilst in my experience, this does not happen very often, I think it is important to note the Code of Conduct which will be applied to the above.

 

Any items believed to be lost are subject to a 15 working day period starting on the day after your items was supposed to arrive, as set out by Royal Mail, before a claim can be made.  Royal Mail does not consider an item lost before this amount of time elapses.

 

After this time a claim can be made with Royal Mail.  BleakHounds Design obtains Proof of Posting for all items that I send out.  A customer reporting an item missing after the 15 working day waiting period will receive via Royal Mail Special Delivery the said Proof of Posting for the order so that they can make a claim directly with Royal Mail themselves.  I will keep a copy of the said Proof of Posting.

 

Should BleakHounds Design be informed of an order damaged in the post, BleakHound Design will forward by Royal Mail Special Delivery the Proof of Posting to enble you to make a claim directly with Royal Mail. A copy of this Proof of Posting will be kept by BleakHounds Design.

 

The form required to make a claim can be obtained from any Post Office free of charge or downloaded online.

 

When purchasing from BleakHound Design either by purchasing from my Shop Page or by contacting me and paying an invoice you accept the "Terms of Business" as stated.

 

BleakHounds Design wants you to be happy with your purchase and aims to keep their prices competitive for good quality mechandise.
